Home Sellers Reap Big Gains in October

|

The L.A. Times reports today that a majority of home sellers in five Southern California counties sold their homes for double of what they paid. The median profit in Los Angeles County was $266,000. Less than 6.5% of last month's sellers lost money when they sold their home. The data suggests that for most, declining prices doesn't pose a huge problem. Those who haven't owned their home for long may have trouble if they are forced to sell soon, but the majority stand to make handsome profits if they need to sell.
