Calabasas Pumpkin Festival October 22nd
We Southern Californians know that October and November are the two best months here in the southland. The light is mellow, the sky is Santa Fe blue and the sycamore leaves turn gold and red. The Calabasas Pumpkin Festival is another pleasant part of the season. The town fathers (and mothers) put on an old fashioned event complete with pumpkin pie-eating and pumpkin seed-spitting contests. The kids will be kept busy at the fun zone, painting pumpkins, making slime at the science area and--sure to be a big hit-- exploring the real life tonka toys at the "Touch a Truck" area. A good idea: the Halloween Costume Trading Post. Bring one to trade, or simply donate your outgrown costumes to charity. Enjoy the classic car show, stroll the markeplace and listen to the bands. And of course, there will be plenty of good food on hand. Sunday, October 22, 2006, 10am-5pm at San Juan de Baptista Park in Calabasas.
